Manaslu Conservation Area is a preserved area of 1663 Km2 in Nepal, properly designated in 1998, and developed by Integrated Conservation and Development Program Authority of Nepal. It has a fragile but very diverse nature of resources ranging from floras to fauna of versatile nature.
Mountains, glaciers, and watercourses are also included in Manaslu Conservation Area. The elevation range of this area is from 1400 m to 8156 m. The highest peak in this preserved area is Mt. Manaslu. Around 33 types of mammals in which Snow Leopard, Himalayan tahr and musk deer are on top of the list. In addition to this, 110 species of birds and reptiles are also bred here. Moreover, a variety of flowers to enhance the beauty of the conservation locality is also grown and protected.
Permission is required for foreigners to visit the Manaslu Conservation Area. Earth Scientists and Botanists remained keen to visit this area throughout the year. If you have a plan to visit Nepal, then missing this conservation park would be a mistake as it offers multiple opportunities to enjoy.
But keep in mind that due to the proximity of the region to the Tibetan Autonomous Region of China, less number of tourists pay a visit. The area remained ignored by the authorities in terms of infrastructural development in the past which has directly or indirectly impacted the livelihood of people. As there was no other source of income, so the poor community was largely dependent upon the agriculture and exploitation of natural resources.
