This majestic peak, when surpassed by the late Tenzing Sherpa & Edmund Hillary in 1953, was opened to the rest of the world. The natural beauty of this place and the surrounding many peaks was relished.
To avail, the opportunity of this adventure, a short flight over the beautiful landscape from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, will land you at a crowded town of Lukla. Your adventurous Mount Everest Base Camp Trek starts from here, moving towards Dudh-Kosi River valley and a trek enveloped in the alpine tree line of pines & firs to finally reach at a higher village Namche Bazaar that stands at a short distance from Namche Thame & Nanga La pass.
Namche provides you chances to enjoy the Sherpa traditions of old heritage and custom. The market in Namche remains busy once in a week. A trail along with colorful scenery and views of Everest-Lhotse Amdablam help you to reach a beautiful point called Thyangboche. An amazing monastery here which was destroyed in 1991 and then renovated again is an interesting place.
After Thyangboche, the trail passing through wilderness and arid lands past Dingboche and Pangboche present sights of Amadablam and Everest. Gradually, we reach near to the main destination of adventurous base camp within Khumbu-Ice falls and majestic glaciers.
After spending quality time at base camp, head back towards Lukla and on the way back you will be mesmerized by the one last point called Kalapathar rocky hill. Return to the Kathmandu with brilliant memories.
