All those who are planning to see Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Massif range should go to the Poon Hill as this hill station offers the right viewpoint to the tourists. It is called a Ghorepani poon hill trek also by the locals.
Some most famous mountains like Machaouchare, Annapurna South, Dhampus Peak, Hinchuli and Dhulariri II can be seen from this point. Tourists enjoy the best sunrise scenery from here. The hill station is at a distance of 270 km in the west of Kathmandu. Hiking from Pokhara to Poon Hill takes almost 2-3 days via Ghandruk and Tadapani. The trek is comparatively easy to tread on.
Poon Hill viewpoint is best for those who have a burning desire to see the natural mountain scenery. The sightseeing point comes along the way which is leading to Annapurna Sanctuary in Annapurna Conservation Area. Any traveler who plans to go there must take ACCAP permit from the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu.
