Himal Chuli is an amazing mount. Have you ever made an adventurous trip to the world’s most famous mountains? Do you know how it feels to be a mountaineer? If not, then do not worry, Himal Chuli is mountain peak which offers you the best experience of hiking and will train you for much more challenging trekking in perspective.
Himal Chuli is the 2nd highest mountain in Mansiri Himal which are part of Nepalese Himalayas. Humachuli has factually three major peaks; North (7371 m), East (7893 m) and West (7540 m). You would be amazed to know that it is the 18th highest mountain in the world and prominent for its massive vertical relief over local terrain. Rising 7000 m above the Marsyangdi River in 27 Kms horizontal distance is a clear manifestation of it. Climbing history of the mountain tells us that first exploratory attempts were made in the middle of the 20th century.
First successful ascent of the eastern peak was completed in 1960 by Masahiro and Hisashi Tanabe of Japan. The Himal Chuli summit was quite unusual using bottled oxygen at such a great height. Similarly, the ascent of the western and northern peak was also made in 1978 and 1985 by Japanese and Korean mountaineers respectively. Since that time, all the three peaks were repeatedly summited by the foreign as well as local hikers. It is highly advisable that do not try to climb over this peak without a guide and complete hiking luggage. And all the guidelines, as well as mandatory lodges, can be taken from the facilities located at the base camp.
