Mount Gangapurna having the altitude of 7455m, situated between Tilocho Peak and Annapurna III, is in the Annapurna Himalayan range characterize the beauty of Nepal. Gangapurna is the 57th highest peak on earth located in the Manang district. Expedition of this mountain became famous when Gunther Hauser surmounted this peak in 1965 from the eastern ridge.
The name of the Gangapurna mountain is derived from Sanskrit, Ganga is a goddess in Hindu mythology which brings water on earth while purna means 'filled with'. Gangapurna rises above the Manang valley along with stunning views of Glacier Dome, Tilicho Peak, Manaslu, and Annapurna. Hike of the mountain is technically straightforward, however, climbers should be very familiar with the arising situations before starting their journey. Climbers must have ice ax, handling climbing ropes, crampons, and harness to summit this mountain.
Expeditions for Gangapurna starts from the Kathmandu. Six hours drive from here will transfer you in Bhulbhule. The trail leading to Gangapurna will pass through scenic flora and fauna's forests. Before ascending to the mountain, you need to adjust yourself in the Gangapurna base camp with the local environment and food. Do not continue your hike if feeling sick or jaded.
