Tengboche Monastery is listed among the most visited monasteries of Nepal due to the mouth-watering view of Mount Ama Dablam in the backdrop. The monastery was actually built in 1916 by Lama Gulu and considered as largest gompa in the region. The rush of tourists to this place is generally due to its religious importance. Apart from this, the historical and cultural value of Tengboche Monastery has also added tremendous value to the importance of this place.

A colorful Manu Rimdu event is celebrated every year in October. The overall event is comprised of ritual dances, mutual gatherings, and religious celebrations. Many trekkers align their trips’ timing with the festival to double their enjoyment. Tengboche is lying on a very famous route to the Everest region. After Namche, most of the visitors love to stay at Tengboche. Due to some riots in the area, the Tengboche Monastery was burnt down in 1989 but then rebuilt with a concrete structure. Foreign, as well as local tourists, can stay in rest houses and lodges built around the Tengboche. You can continue to Kala Pattar, Pheriche and the Gorakhshep from Tengboche.
