Hike the Lhotse Peak if you are a mountaineer and planning to summit the world’s best peaks? It is 4th highest mountain in the world having an elevation of 8516 m, after Mt. Everest, K2 & Kanchenjunga.
Lhotse Peak is linked to the Mt. Everest through South Col. In Tibetan, Lhotse stands for South Peak. In addition to the main peak, smaller mountains like Lhotse middle & Lhotse Shar are also nearby it. Lhotse Peak is on the border of China, Tibet and Khumbu region of Nepal. The first try to surmount this peak was made in 1955 by the International Himalayan Expedition. Since that time to December 2008, 371 mountaineers climbed over this peak and total of 20 hikers died during their attempt. Western flank is also called Lhotse face and it rises with an 80-degree angle. Ropes are set till this point to move up and guides will help you in climbing over this point.
