Kangtega Peak also called the Snow Saddle is an amazing mountain. It elevates exponentially from Khumbu and Hinku valley to a saddle shaped epic point. Adjacent to the prominent mountain of Thamserku in the north, sceneries of this beautiful mountain are mouthwatering. Elevation of the magnificent Kangtega Peak is 6782 m.
Hiking of it is regarded as technically difficult due to sharp slopes and the abruptly changing climate. It was climbed first of all by the Edmund Hillary in 1963. Best months for the hiking recommended by the Nepal Mountaineering Association are April/May and October/November. For coming here, you need to book your air ticket for Lukla Airport as this is the nearest airport to Kangtega Peak. Services of a guide can be hired from the base camp and it is strongly advised that do not try to attempt Kangtega Peak without guide.
