Mekong Delta River Life & Culture 5-Day Tour: My Tho – Ben Tre – Can Tho – Soc Trang – Tra Vinh

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – My Tho – Ben Tre

Depart from Ho Chi Minh City and travel to My Tho for an introduction to Mekong Delta river life. Enjoy a boat cruise along the Tien River, visit a bee farm, taste tropical fruits, and listen to traditional Don Ca Tai Tu folk music. After lunch at a riverside restaurant, continue to Ben Tre to explore coconut villages, visit a coconut candy workshop, take a sampan ride through coconut palm canals, and cycle through peaceful countryside. Dinner and overnight at a local homestay in Ben Tre.

Day 2: Ben Tre – Vinh Long – Can Tho

Start the day with a village walk and local market visit. Continue to Vinh Long to explore fruit orchards and enjoy tasting seasonal fruits. After lunch at a local garden house, transfer to Can Tho. In the evening, enjoy dinner and a relaxed walk along Ninh Kieu Wharf. Overnight in Can Tho.

Day 3: Can Tho – Floating Market & Countryside

Begin early with a boat trip to Cai Rang Floating Market, the largest floating market in the Mekong Delta, where you can enjoy breakfast and coffee on the river. Continue cruising through small canals to visit a rice noodle workshop and traditional cake-making facilities. In the afternoon, enjoy cycling or walking through rural villages. End the day with a dinner cruise along the Hau River. Overnight in Can Tho.

Day 4: Can Tho – Soc Trang – Tra Vinh

Travel to Soc Trang Province to explore Khmer culture and Theravada Buddhism. Visit Bat Pagoda (Chua Doi) and the unique Clay Pagoda (Chua Dat Set). After lunch with Khmer specialties, continue to Tra Vinh to visit Ao Ba Om and Ang Pagoda, two important Khmer spiritual sites. Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight in Tra Vinh.

Day 5: Tra Vinh – Ho Chi Minh City

Visit a local market in the morning to observe daily trading activities. Afterward, return to Ho Chi Minh City, where the tour concludes around midday.
