Day 1: Samarkand – Nurata – Yurt Camp

Morning Departure from Samarkand: Your driver will pick you up from your Samarkand hotel for a scenic drive into the Kyzylkum Desert.

Stop in Nurata (200 km, 3 hrs): Visit the local mosque known for its sacred spring waters, which have drawn pilgrims for centuries.

Explore the ruins of a fortress built by Alexander the Great, learning about its historical significance and strategic importance.

Arrival at the Yurt Camp (70 km, 1 hr): Check in to your Central Asian yurt, a traditional nomadic dwelling.

Take a refreshing swim in the lake’s clear waters, surrounded by the vastness of the desert.

Lunch at the Yurt Camp: Return to the camp for a picnic-style lunch before setting out on the journey to Bukhara.

Stop in Sarmish (150 km, 2 hrs): Visit an open-air museum of petroglyphs, where ancient carvings on rocks tell stories of past civilizations.

Note: The museum is inaccessible during summer as the area is used for a children’s camp.

Visit Gijduvan (100 km, 1 hr 30 min): Explore the ceramic museum and workshop of this small town, famed for its high quality, colorful pottery that has been prized across Central Asia for centuries.

Watch master artisans at work and learn about the intricate craft of ceramics.

Arrival in Bukhara (50 km, 50 min): Conclude your tour with drop-off at your hotel or train station in Bukhara, ending your desert adventure.
