Trekking in Chimgan

(WESTERN TIEN-SHAN, CHATKAL RANGES)

TREKKING TO KUMBEL MOUNTAINS

1 Day. Early departure from Tashkent to the valley Aksakata, village Gidjal (L = 75 km; T = 1:00 30min).Starting point of mountain hiking. Going on the northern slopes of the ridge to the upper reaches of the river Kumbel, Badamsay (left tributary of the river Beldersay). On the way to up we can see long marble line and sea shell fossils (remains of ancient sea). After lunch we walk several hours and reach to the shepherds summer pasture where put our 1^st day camping. We make fire and watch stars.

2 Day. After breakfast bit long ascent with good path on the ridge Kumbel. Traverse along the ridge to the top of Kumbel where nice panorama of great big Chimgan appears. Lunch at the shelter near marble rocks. In the second part of day we will walk down into the valley of the river Beldersay. Here you can enjoy with unique beauty of nature. 2^nd day camping on the picturesque glade near the river (H = 1700m).

3 Day After breakfast we move toward to Chet Kumbel pass which is followed by a bit steeply ascent. After rest we continue our hiking and after few hours walking we reach to Urta Kumbel (H=1850m) and go down to mountain road where we meet with our driver in Beldarsay (H=1530m) and be transferred to Tashkent (84km/1, 5 -2 hours).

Note: In case of bad weather guides reserve the right to change the route.
