For everyone’s safety – this Buggy Tenerife bundle has a few requirements. Individuals that Tenerife buggy safari must have a valid driver’s license.

The driver may also bring one passenger with them – as long as they are older than 7.

Buggy Rental Tenerife Itinerary

To get the day started with your buggy rental, Tenerife will have you start off in the southern part of the island. We’ll be able to pick you up directly from your hotel before taking you directly to our nearby base close to Vilaflor village.

When we’ve taken you over to the base, we’ll explain all of the rules, how to drive, and some basic briefing for the buggy safari. Tenerife has plenty of changing landscapes, so it’s important to understand some basic safety rules to make sure you can focus on having an exciting – but safe – time.

After we get you suited up and ready, you’ll be able to get started on your buggy driving. Tenerife’s first stop is the back road to Vilaflor. This is a curvy road that will give you plenty of panoramic views up on your way to one of Spain’s highest villages. You’ll get up to over a mile above sea level.

Along the way, we’ll make a quick stop to see the Pino Gordo (The Fat Pine) – a stunning 800-year-old Canary pine tree. These Tenerife dune buggies are bringing you to see more than just island views – you’ll also be seeing some historical bits of nature along the way!

Then we’ll head over to our next stage on the buggy. Teide, Tenerife’s largest mountain, gives us spectacular views as we drive along and climb up it.

After this, you’ll get around 20 minutes of free off-road driving to test your control over these machines.

We’ll cross the enormous volcano caldera and find the ancient Rocks of García. These are interesting rock formations that mark the center of the Teide National Park. You’ll feel like you’re on another planet on this excursion buggy. Tenerife is known for its unforgettable volcano landscapes.

Finally, we’ll head over to another unusual spot that will make this excursion your new favorite to rent. Buggy Tenerife tours take you over to the northern side of the caldera to see the Minas de San José. This is a volcanic desert with a lot of history – NASA vehicles are tested here to simulate the Martian landscape!

Finally – after spending all the day out on the open roads, we’ll finish the trip with a wine tasting in a local, organic winery. You’ll get to taste some delicious Canarian dishes and local wines.

Important to Know

These Tenerife dune buggies offer a spectacular – and unique – view of this island. You’ll see mountains, volcanos, ancient trees, and even get a taste of some of the best local products.

But to make sure you have a great time, there are a few things to keep in mind before booking.

For driving – you’ll have about 3 hours worth of buggy driving to rent. Buggy Tenerife tour time does not include hotel transfers, so please accommodate for approximately 5 hours in total.

This is for a guided tour only. We do not offer individual buggy hires in Tenerife.

In the summer, Tenerife can be exceptionally warm. We highly recommend bringing sunscreen, some water, and a hat. While the buggy is covered and shaded, you’ll still want some protection for the moments when you leave the vehicle.

The buggies include 2 seats that are suitable for single drivers and drivers with one passenger. It is more comfortable than a normal 4x4 (a quad) to mount, but it provides considerably more freedom than a convertible car.

The buggy expedition will begin at 09:00 AM. In the summer season, there will be an additional tour beginning at 16:00 (4 PM).

All drivers must possess a legal driver’s license and children may not be younger than 7.
