Day1
Arrival in Kigali
You'll arrive at Kigali International Airport. You'll be met and greeted by Akagera Aviation. You will find your guide outside and transfer to your hotel for check-in, dinner, and overnight stay. Kigali is one of Africa’s cleanest and safest cities —a perfect place to start your journey.

City Tour-Akagera NP
You'll have a morning guided city tour, visiting: Kigali Genocide Memorial, providing insight into Rwanda’s history. After visiting Kimironko Market, colorful local produce and crafts, you'll enjoy lunch in Kigali before departing for Akagera (~2.5–3 hours drive). You'll arrive in the park, check into your lodge, and enjoy a peaceful evening. Akagera is known for its diverse landscapes, from savannahs to wetlands.

Day3
Game Drive & Boat Ride in Akagera National Park
Early morning game drive (sunrise): This is the chance to see the Big Five lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos, plus giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and birds. You'll return to the lodge for lunch or picnic inside the park. In the afternoon, you'll have a boat ride on Lake Ihema. You'll spot hippos, crocodiles, and large flocks of water birds like African fish eagles and herons. Morning is ideal for big game; the boat ride offers a relaxing close-up with aquatic wildlife.
Day4
Akagera National Park- Volcanoes National Park
You'll have an early breakfast and a scenic drive back to Kigali (3 hours). You'll have a lunch stop and a break in Kigali. You'll continue to Musanze (2.5 hours), gateway to Volcanoes National Park. You'll check in at your lodge and relax with views of the Virunga volcanoes. Musanze sits in the lush highlands near the gorilla habitat, cool and scenic.
Day5
Mountain Gorilla Trek & Twin Lakes
You'll have an early breakfast and transfer to Volcanoes NP headquarters for a briefing. You'll begin your once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking adventure (2–6 hours depending on location). You'll spend 1 hour with a habituated gorilla family in the misty forest. You'll return to the lodge for lunch and a rest. In the afternoon, you'll visit the Twin Lakes of Burera & Ruhondo: Great for scenic photos, nature walks, and cultural interactions. Gorilla trekking is physically demanding but deeply rewarding— proper gear recommended
Day6
Deparure
You'll have breakfast and check out. You'll drive back to Kigali (~2.5 hours). Optional: Visit a local coffee shop, art gallery, or craft market, have lunch, and drop off at Kigali International Airport for your departure. If you have time, pick up some Rwandan coffee or handmade souvenirs before flying out.
