Rise early and enjoy breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for registration and a pre-trekking briefing. Meet the experienced park guides and trackers who will accompany you into the forest. You will then begin your trek through the lush montane forests of the Virunga Mountains in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family.

The trek can take several hours depending on the location and movement of the gorillas. Along the way, enjoy the beautiful forest scenery while looking out for birds, plants, and other wildlife. The ultimate highlight comes when you encounter the gorillas. Watching them feed, groom, play, and interact with one another at close range is an unforgettable experience.
