Day 1: Nairobi (JKIA) - Samburu National Reserve
Depart early from Nairobi and journey north through the central highlands, passing Mount Kenya views and rural landscapes. Arrive at Samburu Simba Lodge in time for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive in Samburu National Reserve. This reserve is famous for rare northern species like Grevy’s zebra, gerenuk and reticulated giraffe. Day 2: Full Day in Samburu National Reserve
Spend a full day exploring Samburu with morning and afternoon game drives. Early mornings are ideal for spotting predators like lions and leopards near the Ewaso Nyiro River. Optional visit to a Samburu village to experience local culture, traditions and dances. Enjoy scenic landscapes, birdlife and relaxed breaks back at Samburu Simba Lodge.
Day 3: Samburu National Reserve - Aberdare National Park
After breakfast, depart for the cooler highlands of Aberdare National Park. Arrive at Aberdare Country Club for lunch. In the afternoon, transfer into the park to a tree lodge (optional) or enjoy activities within the club such as nature walks, bird watching, and serene views of the forested hills. Day 4: Aberdare National Park - Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, drive towards the Great Rift Valley arriving at Lake Nakuru National Park. Check in at Flamingo Hill Tented Camp, have your lunch as you get ready for game drive. Afternoon game drive around the lake famous for flamingos, rhinos and Rothschild giraffes. Look out for lion resting in acacia trees and enjoy stunning lake views at sunset. Day 5: Lake Nakuru National Park - Maasai Mara National Reserve
Depart after breakfast and drive through the Rift Valley to the iconic Maasai Mara National Reserve. Arrive at Jambo Mara Safari Lodge for lunch. Later, head out for an evening game drive across the vast savannah, searching for elephants, lions, cheetahs and large herds of wildebeest in a plains game. Accommodation: Jambo Mara Safari Lodge
Day 6: Full Day in Maasai Mara National Reserve
Enjoy a full day of game drives in the Maasai Mara. Early morning and late afternoon drives offer the best wildlife sightings. Optional hot air balloon safari at sunrise followed by a bush breakfast (extra cost).
