11 DAYS KENYA AND TANZANIA SAFARI

Day 1 Arrive at JKIA - Nairobi City

Upon your arrival, you will be collected from the airport and transferred to your hotel in Nairobi town (35 minutes’ drive depending on traffic jam). If you arrive early enough, you will have an opportunity to explore the hotel grounds, take a dip in the swimming pool or partake in any of the offered additional activities available.

Day 2 Nairobi City - Amboseli National Park

After early breakfast, you depart Amboseli National Park for afternoon game drive. The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants among other wildlife species. Other attractions of the park include opportunities to meet the Maasai and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Day 3 Amboseli National Park

On this day, you will have a full day in Amboseli doing a very early morning and afternoon game drive. Amboseli is not such a big park with approximately 400square kilometres. The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants among other wildlife species. Other attractions of the park include opportunities to meet the Maasai and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Break for mid-morning relaxation when the sun is hot and animals have gone into hiding. In the mid-morning, you can choose to visit a masai village to see their way of life (optional and at an extra own cost). Break for lunch and then later you go for the 4pm game drive. Back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 Amboseli National Park - Lake Nakuru National Park

We depart around 0730 hours to L. Nakuru National Park which is approximately 190km, we climb to a higher altitude driving past Solio ranch to Nyahururu which happens to be the highest town Kenya at 2100m. We will stop briefly at the Thomson Falls which was discovered by the Scottish geologist Thomson in 1861 when he was on an expedition to discover the Great Rift Valley. We proceed with our trip arriving in time for lunch later we go for an afternoon game drive thereafter.

Day 5 Lake Nakuru National Park - Masai Mara National Park

Depart in the morning at 0700 hours to Masai Mara National Reserve, we drive past other Rift Valley lakes namely Lake Elementa Ita which is also another home to the flamingos and Lake Naivasha which is a fresh water lake and the highest lake in the Rift Valley at an altitude of 1880m. We arrive in Mara for lunch. Afternoon game drive.

Day 6 Masai Mara National Park

After early morning breakfast, we leave with packed lunch for a full day game drive to experience the vast savannah, full of plains game and also part of the ecosystem for the great migration of the wildebeest and zebra. On one of the days, you can do an early morning game drive, back at the lodge in the mid-morning for relaxation and then lunch. And thereafter you go for the pm game drive. This will give you a different experience all together. Later in the evening we drive back to the luxury tented camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 7 Maasai Mara - Serengeti National Park

Masai Mara – Serengeti Game reserve (appr. 370km 6-7 hrs with stops)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Depart Masai Mara and proceed to the Serengeti in Tanzania the drive is via the Isebania Kenya / Tanzania border town. The Serengeti shares the same ecosystem with the Masai Mara game reserve. Ideally Masai mara is the smaller extension of the Serengeti It is well located for game viewing drives together with optional activities including guided nature / bird walks. Afternoon game viewing drive at the Serengeti.

Day 8 Game Drive Safari Serengeti National Park

A full day game viewing drive as we explore this vast nature endowed wildlife reserve. Options of morning and afternoon or full day game viewing sessions are available to you. The annual wildebeest migration is Serengeti’s most famous attraction. It is also home to a pride of its lions which have been fitted with radio-transmitter collars so that their movements may be tracked.

Other wildlife you may see includes cheetah, zebra, giraffe, Thompson and Grant’s gazelle, Eland, Impala, Klipspringer, Hippo and Warthog.

Day 9 Safari in Serengeti NP

A full day game viewing drive as we explore this vast nature endowed wildlife reserve. Options of morning and afternoon or full day game viewing sessions are available to you. The annual wildebeest migration is Serengeti’s most famous attraction. It is also home to a pride of its lions which have been fitted with radio-transmitter collars so that their movements may be tracked.

Day 10 Serengeti NP - Ngorongoro Crater

Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater (200km: 3-4 hours), Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Depart the Serengeti with a game viewing drive en-route Descend to the floor of the crater for game viewing in this unique caldera park. We shall look out for Rhino, Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Cheetah, Buffalo and Hippo. Later we ascend to the crater rim Catch a glimpse of the most magnificent views in Africa of the crater.

Day 11 Ngorongoro NCAA – JKIA Nairobi Airport

After breakfast drive to Nairobi via Arusha then Namanga Kenya / Tanzania border town.

We depart from Arusha Tanzania and drive to Nairobi City and arrive mid-day. Lunch will be provided at the carnivore restaurant before we transfer to the Airport for your flight back home.
