Teide Peak Hiking Tour with Permit & Cable Car is quite unique hiking tour. As you maybe know it's quite hard to get the special permit to get to the top of Mount Teide - highest point of Atlantic Ocean, Spain and third highest volcano in the world on island. With Teide Peak Hiking Tour with Permit & Cable Car you are getting at once both dedicated time spot for the Teide Cable Car and access permit to the peak of Teide.
We collect the Teide Peak Hiking Tour with Permit & Cable Car participants directly from Hotels in Tenerife South - La Caleta, Costa Adeje, Las Americas and Los Cristianos. If your hotel is in another location, you will have to come by yourself to any big hotel located within pick-up area and specify the Hotel Name while you're booking the tour. With the smaller bus we are going directly to the base of Mt. Teide - to the Teide cable car lower station located on altitude of 2300m (7545 ft). We have the exact time spot booked, so we don't loose too much time waiting with Teide Peak Hiking Tour for the cable car and it takes us to the upper cable car station at the altitude of 3550m (11 646 ft).
There is only one path to the Peak - path nr 10 and it's guarded by police. Thousands of people daily coming to the upper cable car station daily, but just a few can get to the top of the Mt. Teide. It because to hike the path nr 10 to the peak of volcano Teide you need a special permit. That's to protect the peak, so the number of permits very limited. To get to the peak we have to prepare our passports or national ID cards (ID card is the option instead of passport, if you are from EU or Norway, Switzerland, Ukraine or Iceland) and pass the control with our guide with a special group permit we organize as the part of this Teide Peak Hiking Tour.
After passing the check point we start our hike to the peak of Mount Teide. The top of volcano Teide is located on the altitude of 3718m (12 198 ft). We are hiking to the peak of Teide in the group and generally it takes 30 min to an hour, depend on your physical condition. Those participants of the Teide Peak Hiking Tour in good shape wait for others on the top and having more time for unbelievable views from top of good half of the world.
After doing photos and enjoying amazing views we descend back to the upper cable car station and taking cable car down to the Mt. Teide base.
On Thursdays after climbing the Teide Peak we also do a hike around the Rocks of Garcia as the extra part of the tour before we go back to tenerife South.
It's HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to book Teide Peak Hiking Tour as far in advance as you can. Optimally in 2 months - then it's nearly warranty you will get a place. If you book between 2 months and 3 weeks in advance there are also high chances t o get your places. But, please, even don't try to book the tour at the last moment like in a week to the planned date - there are some chances, but rather minimal and very close to zero, so we will rather have to refund you paid booking deposit.
The other risk on winter months mainly is the WEATHER CONDITIONS, From October to April there are often strong winds in the upper parts of atmosphere and Teide cable car close without notice these days. We have no influence on the weather and in the case, if cable car isn't working we will cancel the Teide Peak Hiking Tour and refund you the paid booking deposit. In the case, if cable car was working when we started the Teide Peak Hiking Tour and then weather conditions are changed and cable car closed or the path nr 10 closed due to ice and snow storm, then we do alternative hike in the Teide National Park and no refund possible. Taking Teide Peak Hiking Tour in the period from November to April, you must realise there's risk of cancellation and bad weather conditions. It because the very high altitude. You can go from the hotel to the beach, swim in the ocean, take tan under the palm tree and enjoy the sun, but there up in the heart of the island could be snow storm and extremal temperatures below zero. Welcome to Tenerife :)
