For the North Seymour Island Day Tour & Bacchas Beach we pick up participants between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM directly from their hotels in Puerto Ayora or, if you stay in a private holiday home, we can pick you up on the corner of Ave Baltra & Ave Charles Darwin.
The next 40 minutes we will drive across the Santa Cruz island to the Baltra channel. Here you will embark a nice passenger boat and start the trip to North Seymour island. The boat offers a lot of space to relax and enjoy the views and equipped with WC. After less than an hour sailing you arrive to step on the land of North Seymour.
North Seymour Island is a small island and it lays 7 km to the north from the Baltra Island. The island by itself is a home of one of the biggest and most active sea bird breeding colonies of Galapagos Islands. This piece of land in the ocean is quite dry and has no natural water resources, and therefore inhabited by the land iguanas and lizards, that rely on the succulent flowers of the cactus plants as the water source. No matter what time of the year you are coming to North Seymour, it always full of wildlife.
We start explore the island with a guided by the National Park accredited professional English and Spanish speaking guide taking approximately 1.5 mile (or 2.5 km) walk along the trail. Our way lays through the nesting sites. On the walk you will visit one of the biggest breeding colonies in the islands. These colonies belongs to the the funny looking blue footed boobies, amazing frigate birds, as well as the swallow-tailed gull. By the way you will have possibility to watch many other native animals of Galapagos Islands like the sea lions, land iguanas, the Galápagos snake, Galápagos marine iguanas and surely can't miss the lava lizards and pelicans.
At the end of exploring North Seymour Island and getting incredible photos and memories you will get back to the boat and will be served with a hot tasty lunch and soft drinks. After lunch we say good bye to the North Seymour and sail to the Noth coast of Santa Cruz Island where we will land to the incredibly beautiful Las Bacchas Beach. This beach is a perfect location for snorkelling. If you are not up to snorkeling, you may just relax or have a walk admiring such a picturesque views.
Snorkelling by the Las Bacchas Beach you can see a lot of colourful reef fish, as well as various kinds of rays, white tip reef sharks and green turtles. After spending your time snorkelling or relaxing at the beach we take our way back to dock by the Baltra channel. From here our bus driver pick us up to take to the hotels in Puerto Ayora and end the North Seymour Island Day Tour & Bacchas Beach at about 4:00 PM.
