Day 01 – Arrival in Negombo

Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your chauffeur and transferred to Negombo, a vibrant coastal town located just north of Colombo. With its palm-fringed beaches, colonial heritage, and laid-back atmosphere, Negombo provides the perfect introduction to Sri Lanka. After checking into your hotel, spend the remainder of the day relaxing after your flight. You may enjoy a leisurely stroll along the beach, explore the town’s charming streets, or simply unwind while taking in views of the Indian Ocean. Historically influenced by Portuguese and Dutch settlers, Negombo is known for its colonial churches, bustling fishing industry, and picturesque lagoon, making it one of Sri Lanka’s most fascinating coastal destinations.

Day 02 – Negombo to Kandy via Pinnawala

After breakfast, depart Negombo and journey inland towards the cultural capital of Kandy. En route, visit the famous Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, a sanctuary dedicated to the care and protection of orphaned and injured elephants. Here, you will have the opportunity to observe these magnificent animals up close as they interact, feed, and bathe in the nearby river. Following this memorable wildlife experience, continue through scenic countryside landscapes towards Kandy, the last royal kingdom of Sri Lanka and one of the island’s most important cultural centers. In the afternoon, enjoy a traditional cultural performance showcasing Kandyan dance, drumming, and centuries-old artistic traditions. Surrounded by misty hills and rich history, Kandy offers a unique blend of heritage, spirituality, and natural beauty.

Day 03 – Scenic Hill Country Journey to Ella

Following breakfast, embark on one of Sri Lanka’s most breathtaking road journeys as you travel through the central highlands towards Ella. Along the way, visit the spectacular Ramboda Waterfall and a traditional tea factory, where you can learn about the production process behind world-famous Ceylon Tea. Continue through Nuwara Eliya, often referred to as “Little England” due to its colonial architecture, cool climate, and beautifully maintained gardens. Enjoy views of Gregory Lake and the historic post office before continuing through rolling tea estates and mountain landscapes towards Ella. This scenic route is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful drives in Sri Lanka, offering endless views of emerald-green valleys, cascading waterfalls, and mist-covered mountains. Upon arrival in Ella, relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this charming hill-country town.

Day 04 – Exploring Ella & Journey to Yala

Wake up to the fresh mountain air of Ella and begin the day exploring some of the region’s most iconic attractions. Visit the beautiful Ravana Falls, a cascading waterfall associated with ancient Sri Lankan legends, before continuing to the famous Nine Arch Bridge, one of the country’s most photographed landmarks. Surrounded by dense jungle and tea plantations, this impressive colonial-era railway bridge is a highlight of the hill country. Later, enjoy a scenic hike to Little Adam’s Peak, where breathtaking panoramic views await. After lunch in Ella town, spend some time exploring its lively cafés, boutiques, and relaxed atmosphere. Adventurous travelers may also choose to experience the Flying Ravana zipline. In the afternoon, depart the mountains and travel south towards Yala, passing through changing landscapes as you descend from the highlands to the dry-zone wilderness. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and prepare for the wildlife adventure awaiting you the following day.

Day 05 – Yala Safari & Mirissa Beach Escape

Begin the day with an exciting early morning safari in Yala National Park, Sri Lanka’s most famous wildlife reserve. Search for leopards, elephants, crocodiles, sloth bears, and numerous bird species as you explore diverse ecosystems of forest, grassland, and lagoons. After breakfast, continue your journey to Mirissa on the southern coast. Spend the evening relaxing on the beach, enjoying the tropical atmosphere, ocean views, and stunning sunset.

Day 06 – Mirissa, Galle & Departure

Enjoy a relaxing morning in Mirissa with the opportunity for a beach walk, swimming, or an optional whale-watching excursion. Visit the famous Coconut Tree Hill for panoramic coastal views before traveling along the southern coastline. Stop to observe Sri Lanka’s traditional stilt fishermen and explore the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort, known for its colonial architecture and charming streets. Before heading to the airport, visit a sea turtle conservation center and learn about efforts to protect endangered marine life. Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
