Itinerary of the Llanganuco Lakes Tour - Private Day Trip from Huaraz:
- Depart at approx. 8:00 AM takes place from your Hotel or from our office, Church in Huaraz.
- Start your journey towards north to reach Llanganuco Lakes. These lakes are situated between the mountains of Huandoy and Huascaran.
- You will certainly appreciate the beauty of several villages as well as the mesmerizing mountains of Copa, Huascaran, Hualcan, Huandoy and many others.
- Here you will be having the opportunity to make a photoshoot at various points on the way towards Carhuaz and Yungay.
- This ruined city has a very tragic history. An earthquake of 7-degree on Richter scale jolted this place on 31 May 1970 at around 3:20 PM. A monstrous avalanche from the Huascaran mountain’s north peak coupled with ice and mud destroyed the whole province of Yungay within 6 seconds. The grim reality of natural destruction can be witnessed here.
- You will complete the visit guided by our tour guide within an hour. Then you will be taken up on the dusty road towards Llanganuco Lakes.
- Pay a visit to the lakes named Orconococha and Chincacocha. Worth watching seen of birds flying high in the sky would add wonderful memories in your journey.
- Enjoy activities like sailing with small boats and take photos.
- Continue your journey towards the nicest trail of Maria Josefa. The trail is full of vegetation and in the end, the bus will be waiting to pick you to get you to the typical restaurant for lunch where the serving is in traditional style and the food is of epic taste which you would certainly enjoy (not included in tour price).
- Now it is time to come back from where we started earlier and then drive back to Huaraz. Arrival would be at around 06:00 PM.
