With the passage of time, flooding from the rivers has completely debilitated the stone architecture.
The mountainous location of the site has made it susceptible to destructive landslides and earthquakes.

Our guide will get you from there and you will leave at 08:00 AM. - Go ahead toward the Chavin de Huantar, the archeological capital, and to reach over there, we will first go towards the southern side of Huaraz passing nearby Recuay. Just cross the river after reaching the typical villages of Huacapampa.
- Continue to walk in the eucalyptus trees. Make a stopover at the sheepherders’ villages and then reach the paved highway. Highlands full of pastures and straws would certainly welcome you. Enjoy the amazing scenery of Querochocha lake at the height of 3980 m above the sea level.
- Enjoy the natural landscape while moving up towards the Tunnel de Cahuish which is located at 4500 m above the sea level. It is a very significant point for the hydrographical division where west side water flows into the Pacific ocean while the eastern side of the river merges with the Atlantic ocean. - Continue your journey towards the narrow valley on a zig-zag path. After a few hours of walk, Rio Mosna will welcome you along with the Archeological site of Chavin.
- The worth seeing site of ruins is adjacent to the Chavin district. - At 01:00 PM, rush into the restaurant and enjoy your lunch until 2:00 PM.
- After the lunch break, enter into the Chavin castle which would take almost two hours to visit.
- As you go inside the ruins, labyrinth rooms and the buildings of Chavin and Lanzon will welcome you. These buildings are made of stones which were remains of the Pre-Inkas. - In addition to this, there are other sightseeing places also like Cabezas Clavas, Plazas, and the main porch. In these small architectural buildings, Chavin Culture is well preserved inside. -After the completion of the Pre-Inca Chavin Ruins Tour, you will leave at 04:00 PM for Huaraz.
