Day Trip Tour to Machu Picchu from Cusco by Train
Depart from Cusco in the morning, with pickup from your hotel and a transfer from the city center to your train station. Your departure location and travel experience depend on the seating option you’ve selected. Guests can ride the Expedition or voyager train with glass on all sides for better viewing with comfortable seats.
Then enjoy a scenic train ride, offering stunning views of the mountainous terrain that makes up the area near Machu Picchu.
Arrive in Aguas Calientes, the small village located at the base of this famous Inca site, and board a bus for the short ride to this sacred citadel. Completed around 1450, when the Inca Empire was at the peak of its power and influence, the site was left vacant within 100 years of its creation, thanks to the conquest of the Inca people by the Spanish. Though the site today remains abandoned, many believe Machu Picchu to be a key center of spiritual energy.
Follow your guide through the main streets of this marvel of ancient engineering. Learn about the site’s history and design as you meander through its town square, key religious sites, an elaborate network of agricultural terraces, and intricately-designed stone staircases. After spending a few hours at the site, return by bus to the train station in Aguas Calientes and then to your chosen train for the trip back to Cusco.

5:00 AM The tour begins with the pick up from your hotel in Cusco, we will take you in our private transport to the train station located in the town of Ollantaytambo, where you will board the train that will take you to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo) , the duration of the train journey is 1 hour and 45 minutes. Throughout the way you will be able to appreciate beautiful landscapes with extensive fields of crops, cattle, mountains and snow-capped peaks.
08:20 AM Once you arrive at the Aguas Calientes train station, our guide will be waiting for you to take you to the bus station, then we will travel for 30 minutes until you reach the sanctuary of Machu Picchu, open your arms and feel the magic of this thousand-year-old place, enjoy the impressive view from the Inca citadel, walk with your guide through the main altars, streets. Take the classic photo from the highest part, surely it is a moment that you have been looking forward to, get to know the history and architecture of this wonderful place in a better way.
13:00 PM After the visit to Machu Picchu, you will return to Aguas Calientes to have lunch and explore the town of Aguas Calientes, which has many restaurants and craft shops.
15:00 PM At the time indicated according to your choice we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo where our driver will wait for you with a sign and your name written, he will drive you to your hotel in Cusco. Approximate arrival time 19:00 PM to 20:30 PM.
