It is eight self-manifested places that can provide Mukti or liberation to the living entities. This is the most visited pilgrimage site in Nepal because of the development of road facilities and becomes easier than before. Basically, the temple lies in the district of Nepal across the Himalayas. Furthermore, Muktinath Temple is an elevation of 3710 meters from the sea level and situated 24 km northeast direction of Jomsom. Muktinath Temple is a sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhists and this temple can also be reached after crossing the Thorong-La pass.

The word Muktinath means the God of Nirvana or Salvation whereas Muktinath is a Lord Vishnu temple. Additionally, there is a faith that people will get relief from their sorrows and miseries after visiting and worshipping this temple.
