Mardi Himal Trek - 12 days
The winding and diverse mountain paths of the Mardi Himal Trek offer more than just panoramic views. With every step, you’ll witness nature’s wonders unfold, from delicate alpine flora and fauna to the lush forests filled with rhododendrons, maple, and bamboo.
Beneath the ancient tree canopies, you might encounter mountain wildlife up close, with possible sightings of snow leopards, black bears, and red pandas. Above, eagles and other birds of prey soar through the sky, adding to the trek’s majestic atmosphere.
Even the first and last days of your journey hold memorable experiences. In Pokhara, the gateway to the Annapurna range, you’ll gain unique insights through guided tours. Be sure to visit the stunning Tal Barahi Temple, situated on an island in Phewa Lake, and explore the International Mountain Museum, where you can learn about Himalayan heritage and the history of mountaineering.
In a relatively moderately challenging climb – from High Camp (3580m) to Mardi Himal Base Camp, you can soak up the incredible experience of seeing a sunrise or sunset in the Himalayan mountains; memories that will stay with you forever.

The Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek begins after your arrival in Kathmandu Valley, where you’ll explore cultural and historical landmarks around UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The next day, we drive to the scenic city of Pokhara. From there, a short 45-minute drive takes us to Khande, the starting point of our trek.
Following the trail, we head toward Pothana, enjoying the natural beauty and cultural richness of the nearby villages. We pass through lush rhododendron forests and spend the night at Forest Camp, locally known as "Kokar." From Forest Camp, we descend to Low Camp, where we get glimpses of Machhapuchhre and other snow-covered peaks.
On the seventh day, we trek to the Mardi Himal Base Camp, located at 4,450 meters, where we are rewarded with stunning Himalayan views. Afterward, we return to High Camp for an overnight stay. The next day, we descend further, passing through the cultural villages of Siding and Lwang, and Khora Muk, before taking a short drive back to Pokhara. The trek concludes with more sightseeing and exploration in the beautiful Pokhara and culturally vibrant Kathmandu Valley.
The Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek is accessible year-round, but the best seasons to embark on this adventure are spring and autumn. In spring, you’ll pass through enchanting rhododendron forests in full bloom, while autumn offers clear, unobstructed views of the majestic Himalayas.
No prior trekking experience is necessary for this trek, though you should be physically fit and ready to embrace the challenges of walking and exploring.
