Description

Manaslu Circuit Trek in Nepal

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of Nepal's most rewarding off-the-beaten-path adventures, taking you around Mount Manaslu (8,163 m), the world's eighth-highest mountain. Known for its untouched beauty, rich Tibetan-influenced culture, and fewer crowds, this trek offers an authentic Himalayan experience through remote villages, ancient monasteries, lush forests, alpine valleys, and dramatic mountain landscapes.

Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to the trailhead before trekking alongside the Budhi Gandaki River through deep gorges, cascading waterfalls, suspension bridges, and traditional Gurung and Tibetan-influenced villages. As you gain altitude, the scenery transforms from subtropical forests to rugged alpine terrain, with spectacular views of Manaslu, Himalchuli, Ngadi Chuli, Ganesh Himal, and other snow-capped peaks accompanying you throughout the trek.

Along the way, you'll stay in welcoming teahouses in villages such as Jagat, Deng, Namrung, Lho, Sama Gaun, and Samdo, where you'll experience the unique culture, hospitality, and traditions that make the Manaslu region so special. A carefully planned acclimatization day in Sama Gaun allows your body to adjust to the altitude while giving you the opportunity to explore nearby attractions such as Manaslu Base Camp or the stunning Birendra Lake.

The highlight of the trek is crossing the spectacular Larke Pass (5,106 m / 16,752 ft), one of Nepal's highest and most scenic mountain passes. The challenging early morning ascent is rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of glaciers, towering Himalayan peaks, and the surrounding valleys before descending into the beautiful Marsyangdi Valley.

Although the 12-day Manaslu Circuit Trek is physically demanding, it requires no technical climbing experience. Trekkers should have a good level of fitness and be prepared to walk 5–8 hours each day over varied mountain terrain. With proper preparation, gradual acclimatization, and the support of our experienced local guides, this adventure is achievable for anyone in good health with a sense of adventure.

If you're looking for a quieter alternative to Nepal's more popular trekking routes, the Manaslu Circuit Trek offers everything the Himalayas are famous for—towering mountains, authentic culture, remote landscapes, and an unforgettable sense of adventure. With all permits, accommodation, transportation, and expert guidance arranged for you, all that's left is to enjoy one of Nepal's most incredible trekking experiences.
