Annapurna Base Camp Trekking
The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek, also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek, is one of Nepal’s most popular trekking routes, attracting adventure enthusiasts from around the world. This moderate-to-challenging trek takes you deep into the heart of the Annapurna range, offering breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks such as Annapurna I (8,091m), Machapuchare (6,993m), and Hiunchuli (6,441m).
The trek typically takes 7-12 days depending on your starting point and pace. Starting in Pokhara, trekkers pass through beautiful villages like Ghandruk, Chhomrong, and Deurali. The route is adorned with lush rhododendron forests, terraced fields, and stunning waterfalls. At the base camp, trekkers are rewarded with a panoramic view of towering mountains encircling the Annapurna Sanctuary.Permits are essential, including the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and the Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) card. Accommodation is available in tea houses along the route, offering basic amenities like food, hot showers, and warm beds.
