Day 1: Fly from Kathmandu or Ramechhap to Lukla (2,860m) & Trek to Phakding (2,610m)

During the peak trekking seasons (March–May and September–November), most Lukla flights operate from Ramechhap Airport due to air traffic congestion in Kathmandu. After meeting your trekking crew, begin an easy downhill walk through traditional Sherpa villages, crossing prayer wheels and mani walls before reaching Phakding along the banks of the Dudh Koshi River.
