6 Days from Tangier to Marrakech

DAY 1: TANIGER – CHEFCHAOUEN – FES

The first day of your journey, we’ll meet you at the port or airport and take you on a scenic drive through the Rif Mountains, passing via Tetouan City and Chefchaouen, one of the most beautiful villages at the base of the Rif Mountains. The medina in Chefchaouen included a Spanish-style square surrounded by a variety of hip art and craft shops, cafes, and restaurants with rooftop seating. If there is enough time, we could stop for a brief visit before moving on to Fes, where we would spend the night in a traditional Moroccan riad.

DAY 2: EXPLORING FES – IFRANE –MIDDLE ATLAS MOUNTAIN – MIDELT.

Second day, we will spend the morning exploring the medina of Fes, where you will see several secret attractions that only the locals are aware of. The University of Al Karaouine, the world’s oldest continuously operating university, is located in Fes, which for more than 350 years served as Morocco’s capital. You will see the Tanneries, the Nejjarine Fountains, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss on your guided trip. Driving across the Middle Atlas mountain range to Ifrane and Azrou around 1:00 p.m. will provide you the chance to witness monkeys in the wild. After arriving in Midelt, you’ll spend the night in a posh hotel kasbah with dinner and breakfast.

DAY 3: MIDELT – RISSANI – MERZOUGA DESERT AND CAMELTREKKING

After breakfast, we will begin our journey. As we pass through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass and proceed along the magnificent Ziz Gorges, which were carved out of volcanic rock, you will see views of the high Atlas plateau and the landscape will change as you near the city of Errachidia to reveal hints of the desert. Through the Ziz Valley, we’ll continue on our trek to Erfoud, Rissani, and Merzouga. You’ll be greeted with a drink of mint tea at the end of the day, then ride your camel to watch the sunset amidst Morocco’s tallest sand dunes and spend the night there. Dinner will be served at our desert tent where you will spend the night.

DAY 4: MERZOUGA DESERT – TODGHA GORGE- DADES VALLEY- OUARZAZATE

The best sunrise of your life can be what gets you out of bed early in the morning. You’ll depart for the tallest, narrowest gorges in Morocco, the Rissani, Tinghir, and Todgha gorges, after breakfast and a hot shower. We’ll then travel to Ouarzazate after lunch in the middle of the gorges (the Hollywood of Africa). With dinner and breakfast included, overnight lodging will be provided in a posh traditional guesthouse.

DAY 5: OUARZAZATE- AIT BENHADDOU KASBAH- MARRAKECH.

We will travel to the renowned Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco, after breakfast at your riad we will continue our journey across the magnificent Tizi n’Tichka pass (2260 m) over the High Atlas Mountains after visiting this UNESCO matrimonial historical monument. We will have time to pause, take in the breathtaking vistas, and tour the cooperative that produces argan oil. In the middle of the mountains, for lunch. We’ll get there in the late afternoon in Marrakech. Spend the night at a classic riad in the medina.

DAY 6: DRIVE TO THE AIRPORT.

You will have more time today to see Marrakech if you know when your flight is leaving. And get to the airport via car. Our 6-day adventure through the desert between Tangier and Marrakech has come to an end.
