1 day – Imlil – Toubkal refuge
We drive 1:30 of Marrakech transfer to Imlil. We meet our team of mules and guide and start the hiking trail towards the Toubkal refuge. We will have a picnic before continuing on the mule path to the Toubkal refuge (3200m) – The walking time will be around 6 hours of walking. Here we can either stay in dormitories in the refuge, or camp outside
2 day – Toubkal refuge – Toubkal Summit – Imlil
We have a breakfast early, around 5 am to take advantage of the fresh morning time to reach the top of Mont Toubkal. The ascent is not really difficult, but it is demanding with sections of jamming and loose scree – according to physical condition. The views of the summit are magnificent, to the north on the plain of Marrakech and to the south on the Sahara. We look at many other peaks from the High Atlas and the village of Imlil. After taking a snack and photos at the top, we start to come back to our steps to the refuge where we arrive in time for lunch. After lunch, we slowly descend to Imlil. The descent is not difficult but it is long and we arrive in Imlil at the end of the afternoon. Then go to Marrakech if you have not booked additional night in Imlil.
