From Marrakech: 3-Day Merzouga and Sahara Desert Tour
Hello!
Join me for a 3-day trip from Marrakech to the Sahara Desert.
We will drive through the beautiful High Atlas Mountains and visit the famous kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Then, we stop at Ouarzazate and the Valley of Roses before spending the night in a hotel.
On day two, we visit the Todra Gorges and then head to Merzouga, where you will ride a camel into the desert to watch the sunset. We stay overnight in a desert camp with dinner and traditional music.
On the last day, we wake early to see the sunrise on the dunes. After breakfast, we return to Marrakech with some stops on the way.
This trip is a great way to see the real Morocco and experience the Sahara.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech → High Atlas → Ait Ben Haddou → Dades Valley
- 08:00 AM – Pickup from your hotel or nearby meeting point in Marrakech.
- Drive through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass.
- Stops for panoramic views and photos of Berber villages.
- Visit the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Lunch break near Ait Ben Haddou (not included).
- Continue to Ouarzazate, known as “the Hollywood of Morocco.”
- Pass through the Valley of Roses and local villages.
- Check-in at a hotel in Dades Valley. Dinner and overnight stay in a private room.
Day 2: Dades Valley → Todra Gorges → Merzouga → Desert Camp
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Travel through the Dades Valley, stopping at rock formations and viewpoints.
- Visit Todra Gorges and walk through the narrow canyon.
- Lunch break on the way (not included).
- Arrive in Merzouga and meet your camel caravan.
- Ride camels across the Erg Chebbi dunes to reach the desert camp.
- Watch the sunset over the dunes.
- Enjoy a traditional Berber dinner, music, and campfire.
- Overnight stay in a desert tent (standard or luxury).
Day 3: Merzouga → Atlas Mountains → Marrakech
- Early wake-up to watch the sunrise in the desert.
- Ride camels back to the main road.
- Breakfast at a local guesthouse.
- Drive back to Marrakech through the same scenic route.
- Lunch break on the way (not included).
- Approx. 8:00 PM – Drop-off at your hotel or nearby point in Marrakech.
