3 Days Shared Group Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga

Day 1: Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Valley of Roses/Tenghir:

In the morning, we’ll depart from Marrakech and head toward the Erg Chebbi Desert. We’ll travel through the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains, making several stops along the way to take photos, enjoy the scenery, stretch our legs, and have a cup of coffee.

Our next stop will be at the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, Morocco’s highest mountain pass, where we’ll be able to take in spectacular panoramic views. Afterward, we’ll visit a traditional argan oil cooperative, where we’ll learn about the production process for this prized product and sample high-quality, artisanal argan oil.

Next, we’ll continue our journey to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the highlight of this first day. This impressive ksar, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of Morocco’s most fascinating architectural complexes. You’ll have time to wander its narrow streets and explore this historic fortified village, the setting for numerous film and television productions such as *Gladiator*, *Game of Thrones*, and *Lawrence of Arabia*.

After lunch at one of the local restaurants, we’ll continue on to Kelaa M’Gouna, known as the capital of the Valley of Roses and famous for its cooperatives and artisanal rosewater distilleries.

At the end of the day, we’ll arrive at the Valley of the Roses or Tinghir, where we’ll spend the night at a hotel to rest before continuing our adventure the next day.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga.

After enjoying a delicious traditional breakfast, we’ll depart from Tinghir and head toward the Merzouga Desert. Before continuing our journey, we’ll visit the breathtaking Todra Gorges, a spectacular canyon surrounded by towering rock walls reaching up to 300 meters in height, considered one of the most stunning natural landscapes in southern Morocco.

Afterward, we’ll continue our journey through Berber villages and pre-desert landscapes, passing through towns such as Tinjdad and Erfoud, known for its fossils and for being the gateway to the Sahara. Along the way, we’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we’ll arrive at the majestic Erg Chebbi, where the spectacular golden dunes of the desert await us. There, we’ll swap our vehicle for traditional dromedaries to take an unforgettable ride while watching the sunset over the dunes.

Upon arriving at the camp, we’ll be welcomed with Berber hospitality. After a delicious traditional dinner, we’ll spend the night in an authentic tent right in the middle of the desert. Under a sky full of stars, we’ll enjoy a magical evening around the campfire, accompanied by traditional Berber music played on drums by local guides, before resting in the heart of the Sahara.

Day 3: Marrakech - Arfoud - Ouarzazate - Marrakech:

Today we’ll wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast at the camp, we’ll ride back on dromedaries through the heart of the desert while watching the sun rise—an unforgettable experience. Upon arriving in the town of Merzouga, we’ll meet up with our driver and begin the return trip to Marrakech, making several stops along the way to rest and have lunch.
