4-Day Trekking Program in the Toubkal Massif
Day 1: Marrakech – Aguerssioual – Id Aïssa (1,780 m)
Early departure from Marrakech by private vehicle to the village of Aguerssioual (approx. 1h30 drive). Meet with the local team (guide, muleteers, cook), then begin the hike through the beautiful Azzaden Valley. Gentle climb to the Berber village of Id Aïssa, nestled at 1,780 meters.
➡️ Walking time: 4 hours
Overnight in a traditional guesthouse.
Day 2: Id Aïssa – Tamsoult Pastures (2,300 m)
After breakfast, the trail ascends gently through juniper and walnut forests towards the high pastures of Tamsoult. Wonderful views of the surrounding peaks.
➡️ Walking time: 4.5 hours
⛺ Overnight at the refuge or in a tent (depending on season and conditions).
Day 3: Tamsoult – Aguelzim Pass (3,600 m) – Toubkal Refuge (3,207 m)
Early start for a more challenging day. The trail climbs steeply to the Aguelzim Pass (3,600 m), offering breathtaking views of the Imlil Valley and high Atlas peaks. Then descend to the Toubkal Refuge.
➡️ Walking time: 6 hours
⛺ Overnight at the Toubkal Refuge.
Day 4: Refuge – Toubkal Summit (4,167 m) – Imlil – Marrakech
Very early morning departure (around 5 a.m.) to summit Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. Enjoy a spectacular sunrise from the summit. Descend back to the refuge for a break, then continue down to Imlil where the vehicle awaits for your transfer back to Marrakech.
➡️ Walking time: around 8 hours (ascent + descent)
🚐 Return to Marrakech in the late afternoon.
