Overview
Ethical wildlife trekking at Gunung Leuser National Park to see wild Orangutan and Gibbons, Batu Katak is a small village in the edge of Gunung Leuser NP. The local community is Karonese people. Our Ecotourism program is focus in help the biodiversity trougth social economic development.

On day 1, we leave early for the Karts forest at Batu Katak in search of fauna and flora, where we will discover the fascinating APES such as the Gibbon, Siamang, and wild Orangutan. During the night we will sleep in a camp near the river where you can enjoy wild swimming and rest.
On the second day, you will trek and monitor the wildlife at the edge of Gunung Leuser National Park until the evening.
At night, relax at the campsite and watch the fireflies, bats and lots of other wildlife in the forest when they are more active.
Day 3 come back to Batu Katak through rafting.

Itinerary
Upon arrival at Medan airport in Sumatra, a taxi will be waiting for your transfer to Batu Katak, a 3-hour drive to the jungle. During the car trip you can stop if you wish, having requested this possibility in advance from the manager responsible for your reservation.
Arrival in Batu Katak, there the local manager and the porters will be waiting for you in case it is necessary to take you to the guesthouse where you will stay before leaving early the next day for the jungle. Our guesthouse is located on the other side of the river and you have to cross a suspension bridge.
Upon arrival our team will welcome you and show you your room, depending on the time of arrival you will have different options, but basically rest and eat to be energized the next day.
On the day of departure for your trek, you will have an early breakfast and leave with your guide and porter team.
You will walk through the forest all day in search of orangutans, gibbons, sun bears....you will discover the forest and its inhabitants.
At night they will camp under the stars near a small river, dine on homemade food and enjoy the company of their adventure team.
The next day they will continue their trekking along a new path.
The incredible thing about this experience is that there is no agenda of activities and places. A trek in the jungle involves adventure and discovery and every time it is different. We invite you to create your adventure and discover the jungle with your own experiences.
On day 3, return to the guesthouse in Batu Katak and rest.
You can choose to spend one more night with us or continue their trip to another place.
We will help you organize everything.

And even if you found the entrance, who among you would wade there waist-deep in water alone? I didn't, but with guide Mulie it was safe. It's also not easy to see monkeys without a trained eye. And Mulie has that. He'll show you Amorphophallus Titanum, and that's a flower that will interest even non-botanists. He knows where everything is, and he'll tell you everything.
