As soon as we reach old Delhi first of all we will take a rickshaw ride, climb onto a cycle rickshaw and enjoy the views as you ride past the several colorful busy and narrow streets of old Delhi, you will be told why they play an important role for locals.
Our first stop will be at the Jama Mosque, the largest mosque in India which was built by fifth Mughal emperor Shah Jahan between 1650 and 1656. A detailed explanation about the Jama mosque will be given to you by your private local tour guide.
After visiting Jama Mosque we will continue our rickshaw ride to the busiest market of old Delhi known as Chandni Chowk which has been around for more than 3 centuries and once was visited by merchants from Turkey, China, and even Holland. Chandni Chowk was designed by the elder daughter of emperor Shahjahan her name was Jahanara.
Another stop at Khari Baoli which is known for its wholesale groceries and Asia's largest wholesale spice market. Operating since the 17th century.
After walking in the spice market we will start our food tastings. We will be making stops at the most famous eateries of old Delhi where we will be tasting some jalebi (Indian crispy sweets ), samosa (Indian pie filled with potato pure and spices), pakora (crispy and fried potato pie ), naan (Indian bread with garlic ) and of course Indian masala tea.
Now let's take a look at Chor Bazaar which is one of the most exciting places and the biggest thrift shop in old Delhi. It has everything you might ever think of buying.
Our final stop at the Red city or the Red Fort which served as the main residence of the fifth Mughal emperor Shahjahan who built old Delhi (formerly known as Shahjahanabad) and made his capital. It will be observed from outside.
