Day 1: Chennai – Kanchipuram – Gingee Fort – Pondicherry

Drive: Approx. 230 km | 6 hrs

After breakfast, depart from Chennai and drive to the sacred city of Kanchipuram, one of India's seven holiest pilgrimage destinations and renowned worldwide for its silk weaving tradition. Visit the magnificent Kailasanathar Temple, the grand Ekambareswarar Temple, the historic Varadharaja Perumal Temple, and the revered Kamakshi Amman Temple, each showcasing the brilliance of ancient Dravidian architecture and centuries of religious heritage. Continue to the spectacular Gingee Fort, one of India's most impressive hill forts, spread across three rocky hills and often referred to as the "Troy of the East." Explore its fascinating structures, including Kalyan Mahal, ancient granaries, temples, watchtowers, and defensive fortifications while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Later, continue to Pondicherry, check in to your hotel, and spend the evening relaxing along the seaside promenade or enjoying the peaceful coastal atmosphere. Overnight stay in Pondicherry.

Day 2: Pondicherry – Mahabalipuram – Chennai

Drive: Approx. 160 km | 4–5 hrs

After breakfast, begin the day by exploring the charming French Quarter of Pondicherry, where elegant colonial buildings, tree-lined streets, colorful cafés, and the scenic Promenade reflect the city's unique French heritage. Continue your journey to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mahabalipuram, celebrated for its extraordinary Pallava-era rock-cut monuments. Visit the iconic Shore Temple, dramatically overlooking the Bay of Bengal, admire the magnificent bas-relief of Arjuna's Penance, and explore the remarkable Pancha Rathas, carved from single granite rocks. Continue to Krishna Mandapam and other beautifully sculpted cave temples depicting scenes from Hindu mythology before driving back to Chennai, where you will be transferred to your hotel or the airport for your onward journey.
