Day 1: Arrival & Addis Ababa City Tour
Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, begin exploring the vibrant capital of Addis Ababa with visits to Entoto Park for panoramic city views, the National Museum of Ethiopia to see Lucy’s remains, a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony experience, local cuisine tasting, and a walk through Merkato, Africa’s largest open-air market. Overnight in Addis Ababa.
Day 2: Addis Ababa – Semera – Erta Ale Volcano
In the morning, fly to Semera and drive toward the Danakil Depression. Stop at Lake Afdera for lunch and a refreshing swim before continuing across the dramatic Afar landscape to Erta Ale. After a short rest, hike about 30 minutes to the crater to witness the glowing lava lake. Return to camp for dinner and spend the night camping under the stars.
Day 3: Erta Ale – Hamed Ela
Wake early for a sunrise hike at Erta Ale and photography before breakfast at camp. Then drive approximately four hours to Hamed Ela, the gateway to Dallol. In the late afternoon, enjoy the beautiful sunset over Lake Assale’s salt flats. Overnight camping in Hamed Ela.
Day 4: Dallol – Mekelle – Hawzen
Early morning departure to explore the colorful hydrothermal fields of Dallol, famous for its vibrant sulfur formations, salt mountains, and natural salt pools. After the visit, drive 3–4 hours to Mekelle for your afternoon continue to our drive to Hawzen for overnight .
Day 5 : Abune Yemata guh -Mekelle -Addis Ababa
Begin the day with an early morning hike to the legendary Abune Yemata Guh, a 6th-century rock-hewn church perched atop a sheer cliff. The climb involves steep paths and some scrambling, but you’ll be rewarded with awe-inspiring panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, as well as intricate ancient frescoes inside the church. After this unforgettable spiritual and cultural experience, descend carefully and drive back to Mekelle, where you’ll catch your flight back to Addis Ababa.
Day 6: Departure
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your international departure, marking the end of your unforgettable 5-day adventure in Ethiopia.
