Day 1

Fly to Gondar and Explore

Day 2

Gondar to Simien Mountains National Park Trek

Morning: You'll drive to Simien Mountains National Park (2-3 hours), and you will have a game drive.

Trekking: You'll begin trekking with views of dramatic landscapes, spotting wildlife such as gelada baboons.

Evening: You will settle into the campsite and enjoy a warm campfire dinner.

Day 3

Simien Mountains National Park Exploration

You will enjoy full-day trekking through the Simien Mountains.

Highlights include:

Observation of diverse flora and fauna, including gelada baboons, ibex and Ethiopian wolves.

A picnic lunch amidst scenic vistas.

Overnight stay: Camping in the Simien Mountains.

Day 4

Final Trek and Return to Gondar

On this day, it will be your final day trekking in Simien Mountain. On the way back, you'll enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the mountain.

Morning: You'll conclude your trek and drive back to Gondar.

Afternoon: You'll have free time to relax or explore Gondar further.

Overnight: Hotel in Gondar.

Day 5

Fly to Addis Ababa, then Semera

On this day, you will have an easy day. You will be using flights until Semera.

Morning: You will fly to Addis Ababa with a connecting flight to Semera.

Evening: You will have a brief orientation about the Danakil Depression.

Overnight stay: Hotel in Semera.

Day 6

Drive to Hamedela in the Danakil Depression

You will drive to Hamedela in the Danakil Depression.

Morning: You'll begin the journey to Hamedela, stopping for local interactions and views of the landscape.

Afternoon: You will arrive at Hamedela and set up camp.

Evening: You will enjoy a spectacular sunset over the desert.

Overnight stay: Camping in Hamedela.

Day 7

Explore Dallol and Erta Ale Volcano

Today, you will be exploring Dallol and Erta Ale Volcano

Morning: You'll visit Dallol’s colorful sulfur springs and mineral formations.

Afternoon: You will drive to the base of the Erta Ale Volcano.

Evening: You'll begin the ascent of Erta Ale to witness the active lava lake.

Overnight stay: Camping near Erta Ale.

Day 8

Return to Semera via Danakil Depression

You will return to Semera via the Danakil Depression.

Morning: You'll explore additional sites in the Danakil Depression, including salt pans and camel caravans.

Afternoon: You'll drive back to Semera.

Evening: You'll catch your last flight to Addis Ababa.

Day 9

Fly to Jinka, Visit Omorate, and Dasenech

You'll fly to Jinka and visit Omorate and Dasenech.

Morning: You will fly to Jinka.

Afternoon: You'll drive to Omorate, cross the Omo River, and visit the Dasenech people to learn about their culture.

Evening: You'll drive to Turmi for an overnight stay.

Day 10

Discover Karo and Hamer People's

Morning: After breakfast, you'll visit the Karo people, known for their intricate body paintings.

Afternoon: You'll explore the Hamer tribe, famed for their traditional ceremonies and hairstyles.

Evening: You will return to Jinka for the night.

Overnight stay: Lodge in Jinka.

Day 11

Visit Mursi and Ari Peoples, Return to Addis Ababa

Morning: You'll drive to Mago National Park to meet the Mursi people, who are famous for lip plates.

Afternoon: You'll explore the Ari peoples, learning about their pottery and coffee-making traditions.

Evening: You'll fly back to Addis Ababa.
