8:00 AM: Your tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel. We will then depart for Bat Trang ceramic village, renowned for its pottery since the 11th century. Upon arriving at Bat Trang Village, firstly you get off at a temple. Which to worship tutelary god of Bat Trang village. Who made great contributions to defeat foreign invaders, reclaiming this land and creating pottery for the people. The temple is located right next to the port and the largest river in the North, helping you imagine why the ancients chose this place to develop the pottery industry. We will stroll through narrow charming alley to visit old quarter of Bat Trang with many beautiful architecture ancient houses, chatting with old men, famous artisans of pottery about history of of the village and pottery craft, taking some photo in the ancient house… Continue to a workshop filled with exquisite ceramic and pottery products. You will be guided intricate steps of creating pottery. This tour offers an unique, hands-on experience, you can join to make pottery products from beginning to the end to complete a product in traditional way by yourself. If you need to bring home as a present. please register to the guide but you need to wait for 3 days to dry and burn them and workshop owner will send to hotel for you. Experience making ceramic products If time permit you can walk around market to have a look trading activities of local people. Before you leave the village, you will visit an other family to see they combine traditional way and modern way to make ceramic and pottery products. You also can buy some presents here to bring home. If time permits you can visit Bat Trang pottery museum ( your own entrance ticket)
11:30 Leaving Bat Trang for Chuong Village, known for its 300-year history of conical hat making. We will visit a family with a long-standing tradition in this craft, one of the few that still preserves a wooden house with traditional Northern Delta architecture. This visit offers a captivating glimpse into the Vietnamese countryside of decade. Enjoy the lunch with pure traditional Vietnamese dishes. You’ll see workers energetically engaged in their tasks and storerooms filled with products at various stages of completion. Outside, the yard is adorned with thousands of colorful incense bouquets, perfect for memorable photos. Interact with friendly locals eager to share their knowledge about incense making, and even participate in crafting incense yourself, enriching your experience in this unique village.
