Description
Embark on an unforgettable 8-day Uganda safari combining thrilling adventure, incredible wildlife encounters, and unforgettable primate experiences. This carefully designed journey takes you from the adventure capital of Jinja to the scenic savannahs of Queen Elizabeth National Park and into the ancient rainforest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Along the way, enjoy white-water rafting on the mighty Nile, track rhinos on foot, search for Africa’s iconic wildlife, and come face-to-face with endangered mountain gorillas.
Your adventure begins in Jinja, where you experience the excitement of white-water rafting on the River Nile. Whether you are an experienced adventurer or trying rafting for the first time, the activity offers an exhilarating way to explore Uganda’s natural beauty while navigating rapids surrounded by lush tropical scenery.
Continue to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a protected area dedicated to rhino conservation. Here, enjoy a guided walking rhino-tracking experience and learn about the sanctuary’s successful efforts to protect Uganda’s rhino population. You may also encounter other wildlife and bird species while exploring the surrounding savannah and wetlands.
The safari then continues to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most spectacular wildlife destinations. Enjoy game drives across the park’s diverse landscapes, searching for elephants, buffaloes, lions, Uganda kob, warthogs, antelopes, and numerous bird species. The park’s beautiful scenery, including open savannah, crater lakes, forests, and wetlands, creates excellent opportunities for photography and wildlife viewing.
A highlight of your stay in Queen Elizabeth National Park is a boat cruise along the famous Kazinga Channel. The cruise provides a unique opportunity to see large concentrations of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and water birds along the shoreline. It is a relaxing yet exciting way to experience the park from the water.
From Queen Elizabeth, travel south toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to some of the world’s last remaining mountain gorillas. The journey through southwestern Uganda offers spectacular views of rolling hills, forests, and rural communities.
The ultimate highlight is gorilla trekking in Bwindi. After an early morning briefing by experienced park guides, enter the dense rainforest in search of a habituated gorilla family. Trekking can be challenging, but encountering these gentle giants in their natural habitat is an extraordinary and deeply rewarding experience. Spend time observing their behavior, taking photographs, and appreciating the importance of gorilla conservation.
This 8-day safari offers an exceptional combination of adventure, conservation, wildlife, and nature. From the rushing waters of the Nile and protected rhinos to the savannahs of Queen Elizabeth and the misty forests of Bwindi, every day brings a new experience. It is an ideal Uganda safari for travelers seeking both excitement and meaningful encounters with the country’s remarkable wildlife and landscapes.
