Description
The 5 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking & Queen Elizabeth Wildlife Safari is an unforgettable adventure combining Uganda’s famous mountain gorilla experience with exciting wildlife viewing in Queen Elizabeth National Park. This carefully designed safari takes you through spectacular landscapes, dense tropical forests, savannah plains, and waterways while offering opportunities to encounter some of Uganda’s most remarkable wildlife.
Your adventure begins with a scenic journey toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best destinations in Africa for mountain gorilla trekking. The journey itself offers beautiful views of rolling hills, countryside, local communities, and dramatic landscapes. Depending on your starting point, you may enjoy stops along the way for photography, refreshments, and cultural encounters.
The highlight of the safari is gorilla trekking in Bwindi. After an early breakfast, you will meet your ranger guides for a briefing before entering the ancient rainforest. The trek can take several hours depending on the location of the gorilla family and the terrain. Walking through dense vegetation and steep forest slopes makes the experience adventurous, but reaching a habituated gorilla family is incredibly rewarding. You may observe gorillas feeding, playing, grooming, or resting in their natural environment. Visitors are required to follow conservation guidelines and maintain the recommended distance from the animals.
After your gorilla experience, the safari continues toward Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most popular wildlife destinations. The park is famous for its diverse ecosystems, including open savannah, forests, wetlands, and lakes. It supports a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, warthogs, Uganda kobs, hippos, and numerous bird species.
A game drive offers an excellent opportunity to explore the park and search for wildlife in its natural habitat. Early morning and late afternoon are particularly rewarding periods for wildlife viewing. With an experienced guide, you will explore different tracks while learning about the park’s animals, plants, conservation efforts, and ecosystems.
Another major highlight is a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. From the boat, you can enjoy close views of hippos gathered along the shoreline, crocodiles basking in the sun, elephants drinking at the water’s edge, buffaloes, and many species of water birds. The cruise provides a relaxing contrast to the forest trek and game drives.
Throughout the five-day journey, you will experience Uganda’s natural beauty, wildlife, culture, and conservation heritage. Accommodation can be arranged according to your preferred budget, mid-range, or luxury travel style.
The safari concludes with your return journey to Kampala or another agreed drop-off point, carrying unforgettable memories of Uganda’s mountain gorillas, spectacular landscapes, and extraordinary wildlife.
