Highlights
Description
An 8-day safari in Uganda is an unforgettable journey through some of East Africa’s most diverse and wildlife-rich landscapes. Combining savannah game drives, rainforest adventures, boat safaris, and once-in-a-lifetime gorilla encounters, this experience captures the very best of the “Pearl of Africa.”
Your adventure begins in Uganda, a country celebrated for its lush scenery, welcoming people, and remarkable biodiversity.
In Murchison Falls National Park, you’ll witness the dramatic spectacle of the Nile River squeezing through a narrow gorge before plunging down in a thunderous waterfall. The park’s vast savannah plains are home to elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and numerous antelope species. A boat cruise along the Nile offers close encounters with hippos, crocodiles, and vibrant birdlife, all set against breathtaking scenery.
The journey continues into the tropical rainforest of Kibale National Park, often referred to as the primate capital of the world. Here, you trek through dense forest in search of chimpanzees, listening to their calls echo through the canopy. The park is also home to several other primate species and an incredible variety of birds and butterflies, making it a paradise for nature lovers.
In Queen Elizabeth National Park, the landscape shifts to open plains, crater lakes, and the scenic Kazinga Channel. Game drives reveal large herds of elephants, buffaloes, and Uganda kobs, while tree-climbing lions may be spotted lounging in fig trees in the Ishasha sector. A boat safari along the channel offers one of the highest concentrations of hippos in Africa, alongside abundant birdlife.
The highlight of the safari is the misty rainforest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Trekking through thick vegetation to observe a gorilla family in their natural habitat is a deeply moving and humbling experience. Watching these gentle giants interact at close range is often described as life-changing.
Throughout the journey, travelers enjoy a mix of comfortable lodges and tented camps set in spectacular locations, warm Ugandan hospitality, and ever-changing scenery—from rolling hills and crater lakes to dense jungles and wide savannahs.
An 8-day safari through Murchison Falls, Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, and Bwindi offers the perfect balance of adventure, wildlife, scenery, and primate encounters—an immersive exploration of Uganda’s most iconic natural treasures.
