Day 1: ARRIVAL AT ENTEBBE AIRPORT AND TRANSFER TO PROTEA HOTEL

You will be picked by Mond safaris guide from Entebbe airport and take you to the hotel where you will spend the night.

Day 2: FLY TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

Fly from Entebbe International Airport to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park [Kihihi]. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most biologically diverse areas in the world. On arrival, you are welcomed to Mond safaris guide who will drive you from kisoro airstrip to gorilla leisure lodge, In the afternoon take the nature walk [if interested] and meet the local communities that live adjacent to the park. Have dinner and enjoy your night.

Day 3: 1ST GORILLA TREKKING IN BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

Early in the morning after breakfast, report to the park headquarters and get briefed about gorilla tracking in Bwindi impenetrable Forest. The Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest are part of a worldwide population of just 1000 individuals thriving within Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The guides will lead you into the forest and use their knowledge of the gorillas’ habits and information to locate the group’s whereabouts.

Because of this, the time taken to track the gorillas varies enormously, from as little as half an hour to as much as 8 hours before one returns to the starting point. Once the Gorillas are located, our group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. This is one of the world’s truly memorable experiences – a look into one of these magnificent creatures’ eyes brings home the bond that exists between them and us. It also brings home the poignant fact that they are on the edge of extinction and that our presence here contributes to ensuring their continued survival.

Trekking the mountain gorillas is an awesome inspiring experience and as you come across them in their forest surroundings all of the fatigue disappears! The Hour is often over all too quickly, and we slowly make our way back to the starting point for certificate awarding and later return to the hotel to prepare for tomorrow’s second activity

Day 4: 2nd GORILLA TREKKING IN BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

On this day you will do the second gorilla trekking in the Buhoma sector again but this time you will visit a different family of gorillas, later you will get back to the lodge after gorilla trekking and relax as you prepare for tomorrow’s departure to Kampala/ Entebbe

Day 5: FLY BACK TO ENTEBBE

After breakfast, you will be driven to Kisoro airstrip and fly back to Entebbe, Mond safaris’ staff will be there to pick up and transfer you to the hotel in Entebbe.

DAY 6: ALL DAY RELAX AT THE PROTEA HOTEL

On this day you can choose either to stay at the hotel or visit Mengo King’s palace in Kampala and Uganda martyrs shrine Namugongo then later on return back to Protea Hotel in Entebbe.

DAY 7: TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT

This marks the end of your 7-day gorilla trekking safari in Uganda and your time with us on safari in Uganda is now at an end, but we hope to have given you many fantastic memories that will live on long after you've returned home. Travel home
