3-Day Bwindi & Lake Bunyonyi Budget Tour

You will be picked up by a professional guide early in the morning who will brief you about the whole trip and then set off for a journey in the south western region of Uganda to Bwindi National park . The journey takes an 8-hour drive from Kampala and the distance to cover is 457 kilometers.

You will have your first stop over at the equator in Mpigi district where you will have an equator water experiment. You will also move around to see some craft shops for about 20 minutes and the journey will resume till the next stop in Mbarara where you will have lunch and relax for an hour, after you will proceed with your journey till to the safari lodge in Bwindi for dinner and overnight.

After an early morning heavy breakfast with your packed lunch, you transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National Park headquarters for briefing by a ranger guide on what to and what not to do during gorilla trekking experience. After briefing, hike into the forest looking for the location of these amazing apes, this may take a few hours or even a full day depending on the location of these apes.

The activity is strenuous and may require average physical fitness, walking sticks or consider hiring porters to help in carrying heavy luggage.

When you find the mountain gorillas, you will be required to spend one hour with them while taking pictures for memories. It is a worthwhile adventure and so humbling to stand a few meters while watching these sought-after primates as they eat, feed their young ones and their day to day activities in their natural habitat.

After the activity you will then drive to lake Bunyonyi In the afternoon, take a boat cruise along the deepest lake in Uganda and second deepest in Africa after Lake Tanganyika.

During the boat cruise, you have an opportunity of visiting some of the 29 islands on Lake Bunyonyi and spotting various water birds like gray corned canes, herons, egrets, cuckoo to mention but a few. After the activities, retire to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

After a cheerful morning breakfast, transfer back to Kampala via the Uganda Equator in Kayabwe where you will have an opportunity to take photos standing in two different hemispheres at the same time and the local water experiment that proves the earth being split-up-into two hemispheres - north and the south hemisphere and lunch enroute. You will then proceed to Kampala or Entebbe airport for your departure.
