Departing from your hotel in Cappadocia, head to Derinkuyu underground city which is located in a town of the same name; Derinkuyu.
There are about 600 outside doors to the city, hidden in the courtyards of surface dwellings. The underground city is approximately 85m deep. It contains all the usual rooms found in an underground city such as stables, churches, and wineries.
Travel through the stunning Ihlara Valley near Mount Hasan and Mount Melendiz, two of Cappadocia's three volcanoes. The valley is a canyon with a depth of approximately 100m and was formed by the Melendiz River thousands of years ago. It is believed that the valley housed more than four thousand dwellings and a hundred cave churches decorated with frescoes.
Conclude your tour with a visit to the Selime Monastery at Selime village, the last stop of the Ihlara Valley, before making your way back to the hotel.
