3 Days Tanzania Safari from Zanzibar

Day 1: Fly from Zanzibar to Northern Tanzania – Serengeti Arrival

Morning: Zanzibar to Northern Tanzania

Your safari begins early in the morning with a pick-up from your hotel in Zanzibar and transfer to the airport. You will board a flight to northern Tanzania (usually Kilimanjaro or Arusha), then connect to a flight to the Serengeti airstrip.

During the flight, enjoy stunning aerial views of Tanzania’s landscapes, including traditional villages, rivers, farmland, and endless savannah plains. This is a unique way to see Tanzania from above and spot wildlife even from the plane.

Upon arrival at the Serengeti airstrip, your professional safari guide will welcome you and assist with your luggage. You will get a brief orientation about your safari, including safety tips, park rules, and what to expect on your game drives.

Afternoon: Game Drive in Serengeti

After the safari briefing, begin your first game drive in Serengeti National Park. Your guide will take you through different areas of the park to spot wildlife such as lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeest, cheetahs, hyenas, and many antelope species.

You will have the chance to stop for photos, observe animal behavior, and learn interesting facts about the ecosystem from your guide. A picnic lunch will be served in a safe designated area inside the park, giving you time to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.

Evening: Dinner and Overnight

In the late afternoon, drive to your lodge or tented camp. On the way, keep an eye out for animals coming out to feed as the sun sets over the plains.

After check-in, enjoy a freshly prepared dinner featuring local or international cuisine. Relax in your room or tent, listen to the sounds of nature such as birds, crickets, and distant animal calls, and prepare for the next day of adventure.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti

Morning: Sunrise Game Drive

Wake up early for a sunrise game drive, one of the best times to see wildlife. Predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs are more active in the cool morning air, while herbivores like zebras, giraffes, and wildebeest gather to feed.

The golden light of sunrise creates perfect conditions for photography. Your guide will help you spot hidden wildlife, track animal movements, and explain interesting behaviors.

Afternoon: Continue Exploring Serengeti

After breakfast, continue exploring the Serengeti plains with a full-day game drive. Visit different habitats including open savannahs, riverbanks, and woodland areas. This increases your chance of seeing a wide variety of animals, including hippos and crocodiles near rivers, and possibly the elusive cheetah or leopard.

Lunch will be served as a picnic in a scenic spot surrounded by nature. Take time to relax, enjoy the peaceful environment, and spot birds or smaller wildlife often missed during morning drives.

Evening: Overnight Stay

Return to your lodge or tented camp in the late afternoon. Enjoy a delicious dinner and relax under the African night sky. You can unwind on the lodge veranda, listen to the sounds of nature, or enjoy a warm drink by the fire.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive – Fly Back to Zanzibar

Early Morning: Final Game Drive

Wake up for a short morning game drive, giving you one last chance to see wildlife in the soft morning light. Spot animals you may have missed, capture final photographs, and enjoy the quiet and calm of the Serengeti at sunrise.

Late Morning: Transfer to Airstrip

Return to your lodge or camp for breakfast, then drive to the Serengeti airstrip for your flight back to northern Tanzania. Your guide will assist with luggage and check-in procedures.

Afternoon: Fly Back to Zanzibar

Board your flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, a driver will transfer you back to your hotel, marking the end of your 3-day Tanzania safari adventure. Take time to reflect on the amazing wildlife experiences and memories made during your short safari.
