Overview
If you don’t have the budget to make it to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, why not explore the base of the mountain? This one day hike will take you to Mandara Hut (2700m) starting point is Marangu Route (1,970m), which is located approximately one hour from Moshi.

Description
You will start your Mt. Kilimanjaro Day Hike after breakfast. Our driver will pick you from your Hotel in Moshi to transport you to the village of Marangu where you should sign in at the Park Office.
Walkthrough the rainforest to the Mandara encampment. A side trip to Maundi Crater is a good way to see the surroundings including Northern Tanzania and Kenya. In the rainforest, look for towering Eucalyptus trees, birdlife, and Colobus monkeys.
Here we will take a break for lunch before starting our descent back to the gate. You will be accompanied by a qualified and licensed guide, ready to answer all your questions while pointing out things of interest along the way.
Route: Marangu Gate (1850m/6000 ft.) – Mandara Hut (2700m/9,000 ft.)
