5 Days 4Nights Kilimanjaro Trekking via Marangu Route

Day 01 :

Marangu Gate – Mandara Hut

Arrive at Marangu Gate and complete all park formalities. Soon after, begin trekking through lush rainforest vegetation. Along the trail, spot blue monkeys and colorful birdlife. Meanwhile, enjoy cool mountain air and shaded paths. Gradually, gain altitude at a comfortable pace. Eventually, reach Mandara Hut for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 02 :

Mandara Hut – Horombo Hut

After breakfast, continue trekking uphill through thinning forest. As you climb, the landscape slowly changes into open heath and moorland. Along the way, enjoy sweeping views of the valleys below. Meanwhile, observe giant lobelias and alpine plants. Later, arrive at Horombo Hut, relax, and enjoy a warm meal before overnight.

Day 03; Horombo Hut – Kibo Hut

After an early breakfast, leave Horombo Hut and head toward the alpine desert. Gradually, the terrain becomes rocky and barren. Meanwhile, Mawenzi Peak rises dramatically beside the trail. As the day progresses, the air grows cooler and thinner. Eventually, arrive at Kibo Hut to rest, hydrate, and prepare for the summit attempt. Dinner and early sleep follow.

Day 04; Kibo Hut – Uhuru Peak – Horombo Hut

Around midnight, begin the summit climb under starlit skies. Slowly, ascend steep scree slopes toward Gilman’s Point. Then, continue along the crater rim toward Uhuru Peak. At sunrise, stand on Africa’s highest point and enjoy breathtaking views. Afterward, descend carefully to Horombo Hut for a well-earned rest, dinner, and overnight.

Day 05; Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate

After breakfast, start the final descent. Along the way, pass through moorland and lush rainforest once again. Meanwhile, enjoy your last views of the mountain slopes. Finally, arrive at Marangu Gate, receive your summit certificates, and transfer to your hotel, marking the successful completion of the trek.
