Highlights
Description
Experience the adventure of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, on a 5-day trek via the famous Marangu Route. Known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” Marangu is one of the most established routes on Kilimanjaro and offers a scenic journey through several distinct landscapes as you make your way toward the summit.
Your trek begins in the lush rainforest around Marangu Gate, where you may encounter beautiful vegetation and birdlife along the trail. As you gain altitude, the landscape changes to open moorland and alpine desert before reaching the high slopes of Kibo. Each day brings a new environment, beautiful mountain views, and the excitement of getting closer to Uhuru Peak.
The summit attempt is the most challenging and rewarding part of the trek. Starting during the night, you will climb toward Uhuru Peak with your experienced mountain crew, taking breaks as needed and moving at a steady pace. Reaching the summit at 5,895 metres offers spectacular views and a memorable sense of achievement.
Throughout the trek, you will be supported by an experienced mountain guide and professional support crew. The package includes hut accommodation, meals during the trek, transfers, park fees, safety support, and quality trekking equipment as specified. Your guide will help you manage the pace and provide practical guidance throughout the climb.
After reaching the summit, descend through the mountain's changing landscapes before completing your trek at Marangu Gate. From there, you will be transferred back to Arusha or Moshi, marking the end of your Kilimanjaro adventure.
The 5-day Marangu Route is a demanding high-altitude trek, and reaching the summit is not guaranteed. Proper preparation, gradual pacing, hydration, and following your mountain guide's safety instructions are important throughout the climb.
