Welcome to Moshi! Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our team will warmly greet you and transfer you to your hotel for a briefing ahead of your exciting 7-Day Machame Route Kilimanjaro adventure. This day is all about unwinding, adjusting to your surroundings, and gearing up for the thrilling journey to the top of Africa.

Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame Camp

After breakfast, we'll head to Machame Gate (1,800m/5,905ft) to officially start your 7-day Kilimanjaro trek. The route winds through lush rainforests filled with vibrant wildlife, including colobus monkeys and exotic birds. After a scenic and rewarding 5-6 hour hike, you'll arrive at Machame Camp (3,000m/9,840ft), where you'll spend your first night on the mountain.

Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp

Leaving the rainforest behind, you'll ascend into the beautiful moorland zone. With breathtaking views of the Shira Plateau, the 5-7 hour trek will take you to Shira Camp (3,840m/12,600ft) for another night under the stars.

Day 3: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower

Today, you'll journey through the alpine desert, reaching the iconic Lava Tower (4,630m/15,190ft) for crucial acclimatization. After enjoying the otherworldly landscape, you’ll descend to Barranco Camp (3,950m/12,960ft). Though challenging, the 7-8 hour trek rewards you with unforgettable panoramic views.

Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Your adventure continues with a thrilling ascent of the Barranco Wall, offering excitement and incredible views. You'll hike through a glacial valley and, after 4-5 hours of trekking, arrive at Karanga Camp (4,035m/13,200ft), preparing for the next stage of your climb.

Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

As you push onward through rocky terrain, you'll reach Barafu Camp (4,680m/15,350ft), the final base camp before the summit. Rest and hydrate well, as the big moment – the summit push – is just hours away.

Day 6: Summit Day - Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak and Mweka Camp

In the early hours, you'll begin the ultimate climb to Uhuru Peak (5,895m/19,340ft), the highest point in Africa. As the sun rises, you'll stand triumphantly at the "Roof of Africa" with breathtaking views all around. After soaking in the achievement, you'll descend to Mweka Camp (3,100m/10,170ft) for a well-deserved rest.

Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate and Return to Moshi

On the final leg of your trek, you'll descend through lush rainforest to Mweka Gate (1,650m/5,413ft). Here, you'll receive your hard-earned summit certificate before we transfer you back to Moshi. Enjoy a celebratory dinner and relax at your hotel, marking the end of an unforgettable Kilimanjaro adventure.
