Climbing in a group can offer several advantages that enhance the overall experience of the climb. Here are some advantages of climbing in a group:
Shared Experience and Camaraderie: Climbing with a group allows you to share the journey with like-minded individuals who have similar goals and aspirations. The shared experience can create a sense of camaraderie and support, fostering a positive and motivating environment throughout the climb.
Safety and Support: Climbing in a group provides an added layer of safety and support. Experienced guides and porters accompany the group, ensuring proper navigation, assistance with equipment, and monitoring of individual climbers. In case of any difficulties or emergencies, having a group provides immediate help and assistance.
Motivation and Encouragement: When the climb becomes physically or mentally challenging, the presence of a group can provide motivation and encouragement. Seeing fellow climbers push through their limits can inspire you to keep going and overcome any obstacles you may face during the ascent.
Enhanced Learning and Knowledge Sharing: Within a group, you have the opportunity to learn from experienced guides and fellow climbers. Sharing knowledge, tips, and experiences can enhance your understanding of the climb, the surrounding environment, and the cultural significance of the area.
Social Interaction and Enjoyment: Climbing in a group allows for social interaction and enjoyment throughout the journey. You can engage in conversations, share stories, and create lasting memories with your fellow climbers during breaks or in the evenings at camp. It adds a social aspect to the climb and makes it a more enjoyable experience.
Cost Sharing: Group climbs often offer cost advantages compared to solo expeditions. By sharing the expenses of guides, porters, and equipment among group members, the overall cost per person can be more affordable than going alone. This can make climbing in a group a more accessible option for many individuals.
Increased Flexibility and Logistics: Group climbs are typically well-organized by tour operators, taking care of logistics such as accommodation, meals, permits, and transportation. This allows you to focus on the climb itself without worrying about the logistical details. The tour operator handles the planning and ensures a smooth and efficient experience for the group.

Our group Start the trek at the Machame Gate (1,800 meters/5,905 feet) and hike through the lush rainforest. The trail gradually ascends, and after approximately 5-7 hours of hiking, you'll reach Machame Camp (3,000 meters/9,840 feet) for overnight camping.
Continue through the heather and moorland landscapes, leaving the rainforest behind. The route becomes steeper as you ascend towards Shira Camp (3,840 meters/12,600 feet). Hiking time is typically around 4-6 hours.
The day begins with a steady climb to Lava Tower (4,630 meters/15,190 feet), where you'll experience the altitude. Afterward, you descend to Barranco Camp (3,950 meters/12,960 feet) for overnight camping. This is known as an excellent day for acclimatization and takes about 6-8 hours.
This day involves navigating the Barranco Wall, a steep but non-technical climb. The route then descends into the Karanga Valley before ascending again to Karanga Camp (4,035 meters/13,200 feet). The hiking time is around 4-6 hours.
Continue the ascent, passing through rocky terrain and alpine desert landscapes. You'll reach Barafu Camp (4,680 meters/15,350 feet), the final camp before the summit push. The day's hike takes about 3-5 hours. Rest, hydrate, and prepare for the summit attempt.
Begin the summit attempt in the early hours of the morning, aiming to reach the summit, Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters/19,341 feet), at sunrise. The climb is challenging but rewarding. After reaching the summit, descend back to Barafu Camp for a short rest before continuing down to Mweka Camp (3,100 meters/10,170 feet) for overnight camping. The total hiking time can vary but is typically around 12-16 hours.
